Church News

The Church in Drumsna will be open each day from morning until evening for private prayer. There will be no Mass in Drumsna on tomorrow ,Thursday April 14th instead we will have Mass here on Easter Sunday at 11.30am thanks to Father Francis Garvey, Reader  Katherine Mc Kiver. Father Garvey will also Bless the Easter Holy Water which will be left at the Altar along with bottles for people to bring home. There are also Blessed Palm crosses in front of the Altar for taking away.

Drumsna Church.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Drumsna has had a face lift ! The bell tower which was badly impacted by years of dead leaves, Crow’s nests and other debris has been cleaned both outside and inside with a fine job of plastering in the front porch and a new paint job and a light that can be switched on and a barring order for the crows! The front door as well as the inner door have also been painted. We also now have a refurbished Sacristy and new toilet on ground level which is certainly a must these days. This  is also wheel chair friendly. The old toilet downstairs and down steps was put in years ago when details like that didn’t seem to matter. The work was carried out by Ray Cox and his team of men. None of this would have been possible without the instigation of one man , Micheal O’ Dowd from Belmont. Micheal together with the ladies on the Drumsna end of the Parish council have done trojan work to get this job finished for Easter. Thanks also to Liam Faughnan and the Annaduff end of the Parish Council who kindly came down to look  before we started and agreed that we did indeed need this work done. So a big thank you to everyone for all the effort and input. Well done.
