Church News 

 The Church in Drumsna will be open each day from morning until evening for private prayer. Thanks is extended to Father Francis Garvey for celebrating Mass with us on Thursday last. Altar society for January, Geraldine Duignan and Carmel Glancy.The Diary for  Priests covering for our P. P. Fr. J. Wall, Annaduff is now in Carrick-on-Shannon for easy access to the priests who are kindly saying our Masses etc.  Those wishing to book Mass, Baptism  or weddings for this area should book through the Parish office St. Mary’s,  Kiltoghert at 071 9620118

Annaduff G.A.A. 50/50

The  Annaduff G.A.A. 50/50 draw  was  held at the club house on Sunday last January 16th 2022  with last week’s winner Gary Dolan pulling the ticket. The ticket  number was 65 and the winner was Alan glancy who won 200 Euro congratulations to alan. Next week’s draw will be in Drumsna  at 4pm.

Annaduff G.A.A. A.G.M.

The A.G. M. of Annaduff G.A.A. club was held in the club house on Sunday last with the election of the following officers. Club Presidents, Teasie Mc Loughlin, Father John Wall P.P. Seamus Lavin and Micheal O’ Dowd. Chairperson James Faughnan, vice Chair Ronan Mooney, Secretary, Kevin Ludlow, Assistant Sec, Barry Guckian, Treasurers Therese Charles, David Duignan.eDev., Officer Gerry Newton, Children’s officer Genevieve Cox, Coaching Officer Sean Gallagher, Health and well being officer Lisa Duignan, Culture officer Fionnuala Maxwell, Bord -na-nog Angela Neary.

A candle was lit and  Members of the Parish who passed away during the year were remembered along with the soul of Aisling Murphy who was murdered in Co. Offaly during the week. Annaduff G.A.A. members and players would like to thank all of the committee for their great work over 2021,our club and Parish is something we are all very proud of and it’s great to have such top people involved in our club.

The Ireland lights up walking initiative runs from now until the 2nd of March. We hope to have our own running track on the club grounds in the future, but for this year a group will meet and walk in Dromod village every Thursday evening at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome. Meet at the harbour Road behind Cox’s Steak House ready to head off for the first walk this Thursday January 20th. Please bring your Hi viz vest and follow all current  public health guidelines. Our walks will be dedicated  to  Aisling Murphy.R.I.P.

Hedge cutting

Leitrim County Council hedge cutting scheme aims to encourage the cutting of roadside hedges/ trees along the public road network. Please nte that it is the responsibility of landowners/ property owners  to cut roadside hedges/trees which are on their property which are along thepublic road network. The grant is 75euro per km of roadside hedge/overhanging trees which are to be cut back. The minimum length of roadsideto cut is 1km per application. Application forms for this scheme are available on the Leitrim County Council website www.leitrimcoco.iealso from the roads department 071 9620005. Closing date for completed application forms is Monday 31st January 2022.
