DioceseAssembly.

The Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise are holding an assembly of the 41 Parishes in May of 2020 to consider how best the Parishes can move forward. We want to hear the experience and views of the people on the ground, whether you attend Church or not. We would like to hear what life is like for you and whether there is anything that you would change, hope for or expect from the Church. The first meeting of representatives from the 41 Parishes took place in St. Mel’s College Longford on Saturday last . “ members from each end of the Parish of Annaduff together with Father John Wall attended in conjunction with Fr. Gerry O’ Brien and the Bornacoola representatives.  This Assembly is taking place at the instigation of Bishop Francis Duffy. You as a Parishioner are asked to give your view on what you think should or should not be done. Drumsna Hand ball Tournament.

Delightful weather favoured the promoters of the Drumsna Handball Tournament which was played off on Sunday the 26thult. The Ball Alley which is situated on the banks of the Shannon was in splendid condition, and every game was contested in a thorough and sportsmanlike manner. Carrick-on-Shannon was represented by two teams and Ballinamore by one .Drumsna and Annaduff had several teams in the contest. The success of the tournament was due to Mr T.W. Daly, Surveyor ,Quay Road Drumsna, who is the current Leitrim and Connaught handball Champion and is a well known exponent of the game, for the manner in which he worked as secretary, in carrying out every detail to perfection. The silver medals which were presented to the winning team were of beautiful design and reflected great credit on Irish workmanship.  The medals were won by Drumsna.
