Golden Age meeting.
Golden Age Group meeting takes place in the Centre on to-day ( Wednesday October 3rd) at 11am. Edwina Guckian will continue to guide us through the Steps and movement for December. The A. G. M. took place on Wednesday last and the following officers were elected, Chairperson John Waller, Vice Chair Bernie Gill, Secretary Mary Gilhooly, Asst., Secretary Colleen Guckian, Treasurer Michael John Faughnan, Asst., Treasurer Bridget Rooney, P.R.O. Colleen Guckian .The Parochial Christmas Party is fixed for Sunday December 2ndin The Bush Hotel, Carrick with Christmas fare, Music by Jimmy Lennon and entertainment.
The official opening of the wonderful children’s playground took place in Drumsna on Sunday last with Blessing of the children’s playground and the Father Kevin Sullivan Memorial Garden by father John Wall P.P. assisted by his server’s Leonie, Kirsten, Kevin and Emmett. Councillor Sinead Guckian was M.C. for the day and she introduced the Chairperson of Drumsna tidy Towns Geraldine Monaghan who welcomed everyone and thanked the committee for their work at the playground and around the village over the year, she then thanked Councillor Sinead Guckian for her dedication to the project and unveiled a plaque marking the name of the Councillor and her work. Councillor Sinead Guckian Thanked Geraldine and the committee for the honour saying all of their names should be on the plaque. She then Thanked the Chairperson of the Council Sean Mc Gowan for attending and also her fellow councillors, Council official Joseph Gilhooly, Donal Fox from Leitrim Development, The Sullivan Family who came from Streete Co. Westmeath and surrounds ,Father Kevin’s housekeeper Marie Mc Grath from Edgworthstown, Hilary Phelan Architect, Kevin Mc Kenna from Pinestone who built the memorial wall , bench and path, Drumsna Garden Centre and everyone who had helped out in any way.We finished off a lovely evening in the Community Centre with tea /coffee chat and food by Tracey’s Catering.
Drumsna C.R.C Annual walk
The Drumsna Community and Resource Centre Drumsna are holding their Annual Walk/run/push on Sunday October21st with registration from 12noon and race commencing at 1pm. 10 Euro per adult and 20 euro for families, Refreshments etc.,
in the centre afterwards.This is the only fundraiser ran by the Centre and your support would be greatly appreciated.

There will be no Social Dancing in Fitzpatrick’s lounge, Mohill on Sunday night next due to unforeseen circumstances, Dancing will resume on Sunday night October 14thwith music by Michael Moran.

North West Hospice Walk.
The Annual N.W.H. memorial walk will take place on Sunday October 14that 12noon in Sligo town. Walk in remembrance of deceased a Family member, friend, neighbour, or work colleague and celebrate their lives. Participants who register will receive a personalised T shirt with the name of their loved one on the front. The scenic walk is a flat route less than 5km and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Sean Nos dance with Edwina and Airc Damhsa in St. Mary’s hall Carrick on Shannon on Thursday for beginners, children 6pm, teenagers 7.30pm.
Set dancing for adults starts in St. Joseph’s Hall Leitrim village on Wednesday nights at 8.30pm.Beginners and advanced.
Drumsna Duck Race
The Annual Duck Race with Elvira and Gerry took place at Drumsna Bridge on Saturday last. The first prize of 300 Euro sponsored by the Brandywell Bar and restaurant Dromod was won by Conor Feely Feely , Drumlion 2ndprize of 200 Euro sponsored by Carrick Motor Factors was won by Mary Moran.All monies raised will be split between Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Leitrim Sub aqua club.Well done to Gerry and his team of duck catchers!
Youth reach Leitrim
Youth reach Leitrim has enrolment for 2018/2019 for 15 to 20 yrs. Are you an early school leaver/ unemployed? Youth Reach Leitrim is based in Mohill and will offer a flexible and dynamic programme of Leaving Cert applied integrated and general education, vocational training and work experience.
