The official opening of the wonderful children’s playground will take place in Drumsna on Sunday September 30th at 2pm with Blessing by father John Wall P.P. Also on that day will be the Blessing of the Fr. Kevin Sullivan Memorial Garden. The late Fr. Kevin was with the committee at the initial mooting of the playground for the children and was of great help, support and encouragement at that time. Unfortunately Fr. Sullivan suffered ill health and passed away before the finalisation of the plans for the playground. Fr. John Wall was then appointed to the Parish and he also took a great interest in the project. It is also of much credit to Councillor Sinead Guckian who through Leitrim County Council secured the planning, funding and necessary works to get the play area as it is today. It was decided to place a small memorial with a semi circular wall and peace bench to sit on and maybe say a prayer to the memory of the much loved Fr. Kevin. At a later date this wall will be available for other family memorial plaques. Members of Fr. Sullivan’s family will attend the ceremony and everyone is welcome.
