Golden Age Meeting

May Madness Ball

The Golden Age Bealtaine /May Madness Ball takes place in The Bush Hotel , Carrick-on-Shannon on Tuesday May first at 8.30pm. There will be the usual madness with members taking part in a brief take on a few famous characters, refreshments will be served and there will be dancing to The Drifting Cowboy. Come along and join us for a good night. All welcome ,Admission 10 Euro.

Drumreilly Bealtaine social is on Tues May 8th at 8.30 as they kindly changed the date to accommodate both groups and we thank them for that.

Annaduff G.A.A. Fitness Prog.

On friday 27th April 2018 Annaduff G.A.A. Club are hosting a sports and health forum in Cox’s Steak House Dromod. This event will be of relevance to both adults and children. We are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be in attendance. Michael Moyles P.E. Teacher , ex Annaduff Manager and current Leitrim Trainer. Chrissy Mc Keague, Teacher, current Slaughwell and Derry Hurler and footballer. Fabienne Cooney P.E. teacher, coach, and current Galway Ladies footballer. Doctor Niall Moyna head of department of health and performance at DCU and of Operation Transformation fame.

This night will cover topics such as correct diet and nutrition, child obesity, benefits of exercise and sports, general well being, various age appropriate training programmes and managed player development, as well as much more. Guests will also speak of their own clubs and how they are structured and have developed and how playing sport has inspired their respective careers and lives. The event commences at 7.45 pm sharp and is open to all parishioners

Mad 2018

Music and dance Summer camp will take place in Ballinamore from July 9th to the 13t for girls and boys aged 5yrs to 12 yrs.Instruction will take place in a wide range of music and dance genres ,culminating with a concert on Friday to exhibit to family and friends the weeks work! Sympathy is extended to Seamus and Chris Murray and family Drumsna on the death of Seamus’s brother P.J. Murray,also to P.J.’s  sisters Chrissie Mc Carthy, Fermoy, Patsy Murray Fermoy, and Angela Mc Garry Ballygeeher,brother –in-law,sister-in-law, nephews ,nieces, grand nephews ,grand nieces,  cousins, relatives and his special friends and carers in Galway. The late P.J. was interred in Jamestown Cemetery after his funeral Mass in The church of the Immaculate Conception,  Drumsna on Monday last.

G.A.A./Parish Lotto.

There was no winner of the G.A.A./Parish Lotto held in Mc Loughlin’s Drumsna on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 14 16 19 23. The winner of the 50 Euro prize was Darren Cox. The winners of the lucky dip are as follows Irene Beirne, Gerry Reid, Cian Dockery, Steve Mc Kenna. The next draw is in Duignans Bar Drumsna with a jackpot of 4,200  Euro

Bus to Galway.

The County Leitrim Percy French Society will perform a concert in An Taibhdearc Theatre Galway on Saturday May 12th at 8pm. The Theatre was founded in 1928 and has recently undergone a major refurbishment making it a state of the Art performing venue. A bus will travel to Galway for the concert on Sat 12th May departing Mohill at 1.25 and Dromod 1.35pm. Anyone travelling will have plenty of time for shopping  and sightseeing. Return tickets are 10Euro and can be booked from 086 1723178.
