First Holy Communion

Congratulations to all of the girls  and boys in the Parish who received the Sacrament of the Eucharist from Father John Wall P.P. Annaduff on Saturday last. It is the first big special occasion that many of them will remember for the rest of their lives.

Social Dancing.

There will be social dancing  in Fitzpatrick’s Lounge Mohill on Sunday night May 14th with music by The Ferryman.


Bingo continues in the Centre Drumsna on Thursday night  May 11th at 8.30pm. Last week’s winners include Geraldine Bohan, Carmel O’ Dowd .Raffle Mary Moran, Patricia O’ Reilly, Patricia Coggins. Free books for Thursday May 11th  Kathleen Rynn, Francie Conboy.

Widows Paradise.

History will be made in kiltubrid Parish on Friday May 19, Saturday May 20 and Sunday May 21st when the newly formed Kiltubrid Drama group stage ‘’Widows Paradise ‘’ a hilariously funny comedyby Sam Cree, who has written several outstanding comedies. Many contend that this is the funniest of them all. From the moment the curtain goes up until it falls down it is a laugh a minute. Five women set off for a weekend away in a caravan in a holiday park, they want to get away from it all, their motto is MEN NEVER AGAIN. The key fails to open the caravan and they break down the door. Three men later to be joined by a fourth return to find their caravan occupied by the women ! Nine people in one caravan for the night. You will have to come to see the result. The play is under the direction of Andrew Redican, doors open at 7pm and play commences at 8pm.

Volunteers needed.

A meals on wheels service is now operating from Drumsna Community and Resource Centre. We are looking for volunteers to help deliver hot meals to those in need of this service. If you are interested in volunteering for one day per week please contact the centre at 071 96 25782.

Are you aged 21 or over, have you or your spouse been in receipt of social welfare, been signing on for credits, or are you a lone parent ? If so you could join the VTOS programme and receive business and computer training FREE OF CHARGE. Sincere sympathy is extended to Teresa and Phillip Duignan ,Gortinee on the untimely death of their beautiful daughter Joanna, also to her brothers Daniel ,Aaron her twin brother Keith, grandfather Vincent ,uncles, aunts, cousins and a large circle of friends and relatives. The crowds that attended at Gortinee over the past week are tribute to the esteem Joanna and her family are held. Well done to Annaduff G.A.A., neighbours and others who manned the large flow of traffic in and out of there during the condolences, also to all who lined up at the guard of honour at St. Mary’s Church Annaduff on Thursday last where Fr. John Wall P.P presided over the funeral Mass. Joanna was laid to rest in Annaduff cemetery immediately afterwards.

God comfort her family. Rest in Peace Joanna .Amen

Golden Age meeting.

The last meeting before the Summer break is today Wednesday in the Community Centre Drumsna at 11am. The bus leaving for the Summer trip will leave Drumsna Church at 11am.Thanks is extended  to the many active age groups around the County who attended our May Madness Ball in The Bush Hotel in Carrick last week ,We began with a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for the late Joanna Duignan Gortinee. Thanks to Andy Feery for the great music, to the Bush Hotel and to all of our members who performed in our short drama. Even though we enjoy the practises it takes great courage to get up and act in front of other groups. Special thanks to John Daly, John Feery and Sonny Moran who were drafted in at short notice. Well done to all.
