World Day of Prayer.

The International /Interdenominational World day of Prayer Service takes place in St. Mary’s Church Annaduff this year on Friday the 3rd of March at 8pm. Everyone is welcome and light refreshments will be served afterwards.

Social Dancing.

There will be social dancing in  Duignan’s Lounge Drumsna on Friday night March 3rd with music by the one and only ‘’Ned’s country Road Show’’ and in Fitzpatrick’s Lounge Mohill  on Sunday night March 5th  with music by Glenside Country.

Sliabh an Iarann Players.

The Mohill based Sliabh an Iarann players under the direction of Frank Cadam will once again take to the stage in 2017 with more top class drama. We would like to invite anyone interested in being part of a successful Drama group or anyone interested in learning a craft, how to act ,design sets, lighting sound and everything else that goes into staging a  successful production to join us for the coming year.

Drama helps build your confidence and gives you the chance to meet some great people. Our aim is to provide top class drama combined with good fun for everyone involved. Rebecca Hollidge fund

Rebecca Hollidge is from Annaduff , Co. Leitrim and has suffered chronic ill health since she received the HPV vaccination in 2013. Rebecca has received treatment in Ireland but now needs to travel abroad for further treatment which will hopefully improve her condition.Her family are in need of financial support to pay for her many expenses arising from this ongoing medical care. An Ordinary Man.

An ordinary Man returns to Mohill for a one off performance by Gerry Farrell of John Mc dwyers funny and moving play. This production has played to sold out Theatres all over Ireland and is currently on it’s fourth National tour. An ordinary man is the life story of a simple sawyer telling of all the joys and sorrows of life with a bit of football and ballroom dancing thrown in  for the craic. Knock Pilgrimmage to New York.

A special pilgrimage to JFK Airport, New York flying directly from Knock Airport will take place from May 8th to May 14th. Itinerary includes Requiem Mass on Sat 13th in Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the re-internment of John Curry the youngest Knock witness which will be celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Dolan. Golden Age Holiday/Meeting.

There will be a meeting of the Golden Age group in the centre Drumsna on today Wednesday March 1st at 11am. Annaduff/ Drumsna/ Jamestown Golden Age Group are travelling by Coach to Kilkenny for this year’s Annual Holiday. We depart from Drumsna Church on Sunday May 21st ( time to be confirmed at a later date ) and return on Friday May 26th. The River Court 4 star Hotel is in the centre of town across from the famous Kilkenny Castle and we hope to make two day trips, one to the Kennedy homestead in Dunganstown and the other to be confirmed. There will be music and dancing each night.  We are a very sociable bunch of people and if you would like to join us for a lovely relaxing break please contact Bernie as soon as possible  as there just a few Doubles and single rooms on our booking. G.A.A./ Parish Lotto.

There was no winner of the G.A.A. /Paish Lotto held in Cox’s Steak  house Dromod on Sunday night last , the numbers drawn 1 ; 2 ; 21 ; 22.were the winner of the 50 Euro prize was John Thornton. The winners of the lucky dip are as follows Mairead Guckian, Aiveen Harte, Alex and Lola Beirne, Ann Walsh.The next Draw is in Duignans Drumsna with a jackpot of 1,100 Euro.

Sympathy.

Sympathy is extended to John and Pauline Shanley Belmont Drumsna on the death of John’s sister Mrs Bridgie Whyte which took place in Luton England recently.

Sympathy is also extended to Ann and Noel Duignan Mullagh on the death of Ann’s brother Joe Regan ,Shannon Lodge Carrick-on-Shannon. which took place recently.

100 years later,Michael Collins- 1917 Visit.

To Gowel, Furnace, Annaduff, Drumlion, Carrick-on-Shannon and Sligo,an evening of History and Heritage commemorating the one Hundredth Anniversary of Michael Collins’s visit to the North West on Friday March 3rd in The Bush Hotel , Carrick-on-Shannon at 8pm sharp, doors open 7.30pm.Tickets 10 Euro and music and refreshments included . Tickets can be got from Councillor  Finola Armstrong –Mc Guire, Kiernan’s Pharmacy or at the door on the night.
