Bishops visit.

The sun definitely had his hat on for the visit on Sunday week last of his Lordship Bishop Francis Duffy to the Parish of Annaduff. Bishop Duffy arrived to a beautiful Sunny morning in  Drumsna  for the 9.30am Mass to be met by Father John Wall and the servers who were faultless in their attendance to the Bishop and the Mass. Thanks is extended to them and to the Ministers of the word and the Eucharist, to those who gave the prayers of the Faithful and the Reflection, to the People who brought up the gifts, the choir, to the collectors and the ushers, and to everyone who helped out in any way . The day continued with the 11am Mass in Annaduff where all involved there also deserve thanks. Bishop Duffy together with Fr John Wall P. P. and the resident Sisters Una and Bridget  lunched in Cox’s Steak house Dromod before attending the wonderful concert in the Annaduff G.A.A. centre at 2pm. where the talent of the Parish performed with gusto and joy. Thanks to all of them for their time and contribution to the enjoyment of the day. A presentation was made to the Bishop of a Wooden Penal Cross carved by Local Craftsman and sculptor Jim Gannon. Presentations were also made to the Sisters who are soon to leave the Parish after four years with us. Tea and refreshments were then served by many willing hands and a tired but happy bishop made his way back to Longford at the end of a wonderful celebratory Parochial Day.
