Tidy Towns Cmpetition.
It is that time of year again when judging for the Annual Tidy Towns Competition begins i.e. June 1st. Each householder is asked to make sure that their patch is looking good as the village prepares to once again take part in this prestigious competition. Our marks have steadily improved each year and we hope that 2014 will be no exception. The judges look for tidiness, well maintained green areas , litter free areas, and many other special features. The Youth club ( foroige ) under the leadership of Bernie Daniels have kindly consented to help with the weeding etc of the tree bays on Quay Street. Mary Caslin always helped with these tree bays but unfortunately Mary is in hospital at the moment and Drumsna Development wish her well. Maureen Quigley has already re planted the Church tubs which are looking good and James Brogan and his men are keeping the ever growing grass under control. We are lucky to have the Drumsna Garden Centre in the village and Geraldine and Damien are always ready and willing to give a hand and advice. Many other people have started the general tidy up and we look forward to the village looking good `for the annual field day which is on June 15th. If you wish to get involved in Drumsna Development Association please come along to the meeting in the Community Centre on Tuesday May 27th at 8pm.
