Christmas Nativity
The Christmas Nativity play by the National school children will take place per usual before the 7pm Mass on Chrismas Eve in Drumsna. Names will be taken of all those wishing to be in the Nativity on Sunday week next Dec 8th after 9.30am Mass or you can give their name to me any time. All National school children are welcome to take part.
Bingo
Bingo continues in the Centre Drumsna on Thursday night at 8.30pm. Last week’s winners included Anna Mc Govern. Tommy Mc Loughlin. Raffle Ann Beirne, Michael Mahon, Elsie Taylor. Free books Kitty Storey and Bridgie Duignan.
Senior’s Christmas Party
The Senior Citizens’s Christmas party takes place in the Bush Hotel on Sunday next December 1st at 2.30pm. There will be a festive four course meal followed by a short drama by the Golden Age group entitled ‘’Christmas Crisis’’. There will then be dancing to Country Star, raffles and spot prizes.
Annaduff I.C.A.
Annaduff I.C.A. are holding a meeting in the Community Centre Drumsna on Monday night December 2nd at 8pm Edel Shanley ( Beauty by the Shannon) will be host for the night. Don’t forget to bring non perishable goods for the St. Vincent de Paul Hampers. Everyone is welcome .
Annaduff I.C.A. are also holding a Sale of work and Monster Cake Sale including Christmas Fare on Sunday December 15th immediately after the 11am Mass. All of the proceeds are going to the Parish Churches and your support would be appreciated. Donations and items for the sale would also be greatly accepted. The I.C.A. will also be selling the beautiful 2014 Calendars depicting local scenes from all around the Parish. This calendar would make a lovely Christmas present.
Golden Age Meeting
The next Golden Age meeting is in the centre Drumsna on Saturday day Nov 30th at 11am. All members who are taking part in the Christmas drama are requested to attend this full dress rehearsal.
Offertory /Collection Tax Relief Scheme.
The Parish needs your help. If you pay all your tax under the P.A.Y.E. system and have contributed a total or more of 250 Euro to the Church collections per year, the Parish as an approved charity can recover the tax you have paid. It costs the P.A.Y.E. taxpayer nothing and would be of great benefit to the Parish. Forms are provided for the years 2009,2010,2011,2012. Most Parishes avail of this scheme. Please fill out the forms that are being distributed at the moment and return them before November 27th to the Box’s in both Churches or to the Presbytery.
Annaduff G.A.A. Race night.
Annaduff G.A.A. have postponed the night at the races until Early January. This is always a great night of fun. You buy a horse for twenty Euros, you become the owner and you name the horse and the jockey and` wait for him ( or her ) to win. There a few sheets still remaining and you can get one from any member. Don’t miss this night and also help your local G.A.A. Club.
Sympathy.
Sympathy is extended to Jim and Ella Gannon Drumsna on the death of Ella’s sister-in-law Marie Killian. The late Mrs Killian who was predeceased by her husband Michael some years ago was interred in Athleague after her funeral Mass on Tuesday last.
Billy’s World.
The Launch of Billy’s World Charity is on this Friday night November 29th in the Landmark Hotel , Carrick-on-Shannon commencing at 7.30pm. The Charity is being set up by Tony Byrne, Carrick whose 5 year old son Billy passed away earlier this year. The Charity hopes to raise enough money in the future to open a holiday centre in Carrick-on-Shannon for special needs children and their families, the first of it’s kind in Ireland. This would also be a huge economic boost for the local area and an amazing experience for disabled children and their families. A wonderful night on the 29th is guaranteed with champagne reception, wonderful prizes and music by Oddity. Your support would be hugely appreciated. Late Late Show
Edwina Guckian’s Sean Nos dancers; Liam Taylor, Anna Crossley Jack Hughes, TaraNoone, Lillie Crossley and Roisin Noone will appear on the Late Late Toy show on this Friday night November 29th. These talented children have us all enthralled with their wonderful steps, so don’t miss this treat in store for you. Well done to all concerned.

The A.G.M of Drumsna Comhaltas was held in Mc Loughlins Drumsna on Monday of last week. The following officers were elected. Congratulations and well done to Sinead Beirne formerly from Headford Drumsna on winning through to recent Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards 2013. Sinead was the winner of the Nursing Care Director in Charge Award which was presented to her by Professor Brendan Mc Cormack at the prestigious National awards Ceremony in Citywest Hotel Dublin. Sinead is the Nursing Home Director/ Person in Charge of Annabeg Nursing Home, Ballybrack, Co. Dublin and is the daughter of May and John William Beirne Headford, Drumsna.
Santa Comes to Drumsna
Santa Claus will be coming into Duignan’s Drumsna on Saturday December 7th at 2pm. You can watch him coming down the hill with his sleigh full of presents. He will be there until 4.30pm. Pre booking for your child is essential and you can do this in Duignans shop .
