Bingo
Bingo continues on Thursday night in the Centre Drumsna at 9pm. Last week’s winners included Rosemary Mc Dermott, Marion Casserly, Margaret Mc Guire, Bridgie Duignan. Free Books Conell Collins and Tommy Mc Loughlin.
The Gathering
The Gathering was a great success opened and Blessed By Fr. John Wall P.P. and Ruth Waller Church of Ireland on Friday night last before M.C. Fionnuala Maxwell introduced the talent of the Parish in Style, with singing dancing, Drama, recitations and craic.
Saturday morning began with a very successful tour of the top end of Annaduff led by Des Guckian, followed lunch in Cox’s Steak House Dromod, The Francis Lynch Memorial School children’s Football blitz, boxty making , bouncy castles etc, and ended with a lively ceili in the Annaduff G.A.A. Centre led by Kathleen Moffatt.
Sunday morning saw a special traditional Mass in Drumsna with Fr. John Wall at 9.30am where four of our citizens who are in their nineties received presentations, Fionnuala Maxwell and led the heavenly Choir.
At 3.30pm Noel Duignan took a large crowd on a walking tour of the Historical village of Drumsna, with much fun at the quiz afterwards, Patricia O’Reilly entertained the children in ‘’Fairyland’’ where they were enthralled by the fairy story of Crowhill.

At 5 pm the in Community Centre on Quay street, Sinead Guckian welcomed the large crowd who were then entertained by our very talented locals who were joined by musicians Brian Mostyn and Irene Guckian as they acted out a scene from the nineteen twenties, entitled ‘’the Wake’’ amid much a hilarity and enjoyment. At 7pm Bishop Colm O Reilly blessed the beautiful refurbished St. Mary’s Church followed by refreshments and chat in the school.
The night finished off with social dancing in Duignan’s lounge Drumsna .Congratulations to the committee for a very successful weekend of activities. We hope our visitors enjoyed it as much as we did.
Annaduff/Drumsna Defib.
The Annaduff/Drumsna Defibrillator group are holding a Church gate collection on Saturday /Sunday 10/11th of August. Please give generously to this very important part of our Parish Heart safety programme. Our voluntary committee who check the defibs and maintain them are indeed generous with their time and deserve support for this. If you would like to be trained to use a defibrillator please contact 086 263 9759.
Wedding Bells.

Congratulations and best wishes go to Micheal O’ Dowd jnr son of Carmel and Micheal O’ Dowd Belmont Drumsna on the occasion of his wedding to Louise Murphy daughter of Helen and Sean Murphy Lough Bran. The Marriage took place in St. Joseph’s Church Leitrim Village, celebrants Fr. Mc Grath and Fr. Wall. Louise had Edel Mc Weeney and Lorainne Daire as her bridesmaids while Micheal had David Duignan as his best man and his brother Niall as groomsman. Chloe Murphy niece of the bride and Sadbh O Dowd niece of the groom were flower girls with Aaron Collins nephew of the groom was page boy. The reception was held in The Landmark hotel ,Carrick. We wish Louise and Micheal many years of wedded bliss together.
Go Van Gogh
Back by popular demand the ‘’Go Van Gogh’’ Art camp commences in the Community Centre, Drumsna on Saturday August 10th from 11am until 1pm. 12 Euro per class. There are still a few vacancies call 086 407 5183.
Drumsna C.C.E. Function.
Drumsna C.C.E. are holding a special function in Mc Loughlin’s Drumsna on Friday night August 2nd for Edwina Guckian who has brought such joy and honour to this ares and who now goes on to the Rose of Tralee to represent Leitrim .Please come along and show your support for Edwina. Admission is optional and everyone including Musicians singers and dancers are very welcome.
