There will be Mass in Drumsna on Friday evening at 7pm. Holy Hour duty Padraig Dunne ; Katherine Mc Kiver. Fr Courtney from Drumlish will celebrate Mass and Exposition including hymns in Latin. If you can sing please join us .

Bingo

Bingo continues in the Community Centre Drumsna on Thursday night at 9pm. Last week’s winners included Colleen Gucikan Helen Rinn. Raffle Caroline Murray, Mary Geheran , Patricia O’ Reilly. Free Books Patricia Beirne ; Chris Murray.

G.A.A./ Lotto

There was no winner of the G.A.A./ Parish lotto held in Duignans Drumsna , The numbers drawn were 2 ; 12 ; 20 ; 22. The winner of the 50 Euro prize was Emear Quigley. The winners of the lucky dip are as follows. Meave  Ward, Frank Maxwell, Jim Moran, Maggie Cox. The next draw is in Cox’s Steak House Dromod with a jackpot of 2.400 Euro.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to Mrs Ann Mc Weeney , Galway on the the death of her husband Gerry , also to his daughters ,Sons-in-law, grand-children, Nephews nieces relatives and friends. The late Mr Mc Weeney was waked at his daughter Louise Winkinson’s home at Lisduff  before his funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday.

May his soul rest in peace . Amen.

Art For Children.

Art for children aged 6yrs to 12 years takes place in the Community Centre Drumsna  with Noreen Gaffney from Tuesday August 7th to Friday August 12th from 10 30am until 12 noon. All materials supplied. Children must register with Mike in the Centre by Friday august 3rd. Tel. 96 25782.

Drumsna C.C.E.

On Last Monday night Drumsna C.C.E. held a wonderful and deserved celebration for it’s members who brought home a bucket of awards from the recent Connacht Fleadh.  Clare Bohan goes from strength to strength with her fiddle playing,  winning at the Fleadh and also at the Community School Carrick for her contribution to traditional music. Also Edwina Guckian’s Dancing pupils, all young children who have mastered the art of Sean Nos to perfection. Fionnuala Maxwell,  Brendan Bohan , Mary and Brian Mostyn and many more young and old are all  valued regular members of the Comhalthas Summer Monday Night ‘’sessuins’’ in Mc Loughlins Drumsna . The sessions continue for the next number of week’s so why not come along and witness traditional music song and dance at it’s very best and join in if you feel like it.

Wedding Bells.

Congratulations are extended to Padraig Guckian Lisnagea  and Ciara Devane Cortober on the occasion of their marriage in St. Michael’s Church , Drumlion Recently.The ceremony was performed by Fr. Martin Mulvaney with concelebrants, Fr. Frank Garvey and Fr. John Joe Gannon. Ciara had her sisters Karen and Aisling as her bridesmaids, while Padraig had his brothers Donal and  Enda as his Bestman and Groomsman.The page boys were James Devane and Jack Walsh nephews of the bride and the flower girl was Mia Guckian niece of the groom. We wish Ciara and Padraig many years of wedded bliss.

Coffee Morning.

Thanks to all who supported the coffee morning at the Drumsna Community and Resource Centre in aid of Cancer Care West on Thursday July 12th.  It was a great success and the support of local and concerned people was greatly appreciated. A total of 630 Euro was raised and banked with Cancer Care West on Friday July 13th .
