Golden Age News.
There will be a meeting of the above to-day Wednesday May 4th at 11am. In the Community Centre Drumsna. The Bealtaine ‘’May Madness Ball’’ takes place in The Bush hotel , Carrick, on Tuesday night next May 10th at 8pm , with dancing to Mark Finn , refreshments ,and the unveiling of a beautifully sewn Wall Hanging of the Parish of Annaduff which includes every Townland in the Parish.The wall hanging which has taken over a year to complete under the direction of Nuala Kennedy and Ruth Waller will be unveiled by our oldest member 95 year old Maggie Reilly .Admission is 10 Euro and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the night .

Sympathy is extended to Nuala Kennedy, Jamestown on the death of her brother Sean Whitney, Leitrim Village last week . Sympathy is also extended to his wife Peggy and the Whitney family on their loss.

Leitrim Co. Council Arts awards .
Congratulations to Edwina Guckian on receiving an Award from The County Manager M/s Jackie Maguire for her contribution to the Arts in the form of Sean Nos Dancing and the wonderful acclaim she brought to the County at the recent all Ireland Talent Show. Edwina who has two world champion titles is a wonderful ambassador for her native Drumsna and for County Leitrim.The Council and committee deserve great credit on their initiative in holding this 1st Annual Arts Award ceremony. Noted Singer Eleanor Shanley presented the The Ward sisters from Aughnasheelin with their award, these five lovely young girls have a room full of Trophies to show for their commitment to traditional music.Johnny Gogan Film maker and directorwho lives in north Leitrim received his award from the well known writer Alice Lyons who coincidently was wearing a dress by young and upcoming designer Ruth duignan from Drumsna .Tarmon Native Vincent woods ,Poet, writer and Broadcaster also received one of the specially commissioned pieces by Peter Fullup. Father Patsy Young from Ballinamore received an Award for his contribution to Drama in the County. It was a great nights entertainment from Eleanor Shanley ,Charlie Mc Gewttigan , Allie Blunnie , The John Mc Cartin trio , the Ward sisters ,Edwina Guckian and Michael O Rourke .

There was no winner of the G.A.A. / Parish Lotto held in Taylor’s Bar Drumsna on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 2 ; 11 ; 17 ; 23. The winner of the fifty Euro was Noah Bacchus. The winners of the Lucky Dip are as follows Paddy and Amanda, Sophie Reynolds, Shauna Ward ; David Charles. The next draw is the Brandywell Dromod in with a jackpot of 2,100 Euro.
