St Patrick’s Day Mass.

The St Patrick’s day Mass in Drumsna was A traditional celebration with Celebrant Fr John Wall P.P. Annaduff. The Musicians and singers were Fionnuala Maxwell , Imelda Gaffney, Edwina Guckian  . The Offertory procession included Tara Curran and Joanna Duignan Bread and Wine , Declan Gill Emer Quigley, Shamrock and Fiddle ,Maureen Quigley Pauline Daly The Flute and St. Patrick. Edwina and Michael O’ Rourke from Sean Nos ar an tSionann finished off after Mass with a rousing display of dancing.

St. Patrick’s Night.

Drumsna C.C.E. wish to thank everyone who supported their fundraiser in Mc Loughlin’s Bar on St. Patrick’s night. To the musicians Cian , Clare ,Brendan Pauline , Chloe and  especially Fionnuala Maxwell who took time out from her busy schedule to be there, to the dancers Tara, Niamh, Cait,and Chloe, singers Fionnuala and Maureen. Apologies came from Edwina and her group Sean Nos ar an tSionann who were exhausted from Parades, practices etc, thanks to the ladies who did the catering and to the Mc Loughlin Family for hosting the night which was most enjoyable.

Defibrillator Training.

C.P.R. defibrillator training will recommence in the Community Centre Drumsna on Wednesday March 30^th from 8pm sharp until 8.30pm.This is a practice session and a chance to practice skills. Our Medical Doctor has directed that anyone suffering from cold , flu or other illness does not attend.

New C.P.R. guidelines are being introduced in April and new volunteers for training are requested to please call 087 9390507 before 9pm to arrange a suitable date for training. Existing members are asked to call 087 9390507  to confirm their availability for the present list and to arrange up skills with the new guidelines. Thanks is extended to Ellen Hennessy for all her voluntary work in keeping these courses going also to the defibrillator committee and all the people who check the defibrillators within the Parish on a weekly basis.

Bingo.

Bingo continues in Drumsna community Centre on Thursday night commencing at 8.30pm. Lasts weeks winners include Colm Murray , Marie Brown,Ellen Gibbons,Raffle Ann Beirne, Geraldine Monaghan, Maura Bohan, Free Books, Bernie Daniels, Peter Reynolds.

Golden Age Holidays.

The Holiday this year is in The Abbey Hotel Co. Donegal from Sunday May 22^nd until Friday May 27^th inclusive. The cost is 270 Euro and includes hotel,B&B sharing ,( single supplement 15 Euro ) Dinner and the coach to and from Drumsna Church. There will be day trips to Glenveigh , Belfast , Derry , etc which are optional and dancingand entertainment each night. Everyone is welcome to join the group but early booking is advisable. Self Help Africa.

Self Help Africa would like to thank everyone who contributed so generously to their Annual Church Gate collection on Sunday last.

I.C.A. Concert.

The Leitrim Federation I.C.A. held their Traditional Irish St Patrick’s Concert in The Mayflower Ballroom Drumshanbo on Friday night last with a feast of song, dance, recitation and Drama . Each Guild throughout the County had their own party piece ready for the concert which gave the audience  a very enjoyable experience.  Federation President Maura Faughnan thanked all of the participants for their time and effort., she also thanked the very capable Helen Rutter who was M.C. for the occasion.

G.A.A. /Parish Lotto.

There was no winner of the G.A.A. Parish lotto held on Sunday night last The numbers drawn were 5 ; 6 ; 17 ; 19 .. The winner of the fifty Euro prize was Grainne Bohan. The winners of the lucky dip were as follows ; Amy Cox . Dean Gill ; Sinead Hever ; Martina mc Garry. The next draw is in Duignans Drumsna with a jackpot of 1,800 Euro.

Sean Nos ar an tSionann.

Congratulations to Edwina Guckian and her wonderful group of young dancers who got to the all Ireland Talent Show final on R.T.E. on Sunday night last. The group comprising of Edwina, Michael O Rourke , Ryan Owens, Tara Noone, Deirdre Kerins , Niamh Kerins, Rian Biesty , Kerrie Ann Murtagh Conal mc Cormack and Karen Tansey have brought so much joy and pleasure all around the Province with their happy faces and wonderful talent. They danced at fund raisers, parties ,  Hospitals ,Masses and no request  to dance was refused  and we thank them for having brought so much joy and happiness to so many . Well done Sean Nos ar an tSionann , you have done us proud .
