Mass Times.
There will be Mass in Drumsna on Friday Dec 10th at 7pm. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Holy Hour duty Mary Khaleel , Maureen Quigley.Mass on Sunday Dec 12th at 9.30am. Readers Louise Gaffney , Chloe Daniels , Tara Curran, Niamh Mc Nulty, Minister Colleen Guckian .
Nativity Scene.
There will be the Annual Nativity play by the schoolchildren immediately before Christmas Eve Mass in Drumsna .This short scene involves the children in the real meaning of the birth of Christ and the story of Bethlehem .All children are welcome to take part .There will be a practice after Mass on Sunday week Dec 19th. We will take names of all those wishing to be in the Nativity on next Sunday in Drumsna after 9.30am Mass or any time at 087 7670788.
Sympathy.
Sympathy is extended to Myra Reynolds and family, Shannon Lodge, Drumsna and Sean Cunningham and family Jamestown on the untimely death of their brother Michael and to Michael’s wife and young family, Gortletteragh, who are left to mourn a beloved husband and father. Large crowds braved the treacherous roads to pay their respects to Michael who passed away on Saturday last after a long illness bravely borne.
May his soul rest in peace .Amen.
Annaduff N. School Concert.
The Annaduff National School concert takes place in St Mary’s Church Annaduff on Sunday next December 12th at 3pm. The children and teachers assisted by the parents association have put on a great concert of music song dance and drama for the past number of years and I’m sure this year will also be excellent. Admission is optional and raffle prizes will be gratefully accepted and can be left at the school.
Death of Kilbride native.
The death has occurred on Dec 4th of Doctor Thomas E. Shannon in Horwich lancs England, at the age of 94. A native of Kilbride Drumsna he was educated in Summerhill College Sligo and University College Galway where he qualified in 1941. He worked as a Consultant Opthalmologist in Bolton Royal Infirmary until his retirement . Each year he came home to Kilbride and enjoyed a golfing holiday at Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club. The late Dr. Shannon is survived by his wife Mary , sons Frank and John ,daughter Helen and also by the oldest surviving member of his family ,Mrs Bridie O’Mahoney formerly of Drumlish who is aged 103.

Senior citizen’s Christmas party.
The senior Citizens Christmas party due to be held in the Bush Hotel Carrick on last Sunday will now be held in the Bush on Sunday week December 19th at 2.30pm.There will be a Golden Age meeting on next Tue Dec 14th at 11am in the Community Centre .
