Sean Nos Dancing

Sean Nos dancing continues in the Community Centre Drumsna each Friday Night at 8pm until 9pm. Everyone  welcome .

Ballroom Dancing

Ballroom Dancing ie waltz  ,foxtrot ,Jive, etc in the Community Centre Drumsna each Wednesday night at 8pm until 10pm . Everyone welcome .

Golden Age News.

The Bealtaine ‘’May Madness ‘’ Ball in The Bush Hotel Carrick-on-Shannon on May 4th was a roaring success with a crowd far exceeding our expectations. Thanks to all who attended our function and to Joe Dolan and the staff of the Bush who rose to the occasion To Mark Finn who kept our toes tapping and to our wonderful group of members who acted out Ruth Waller’s play ‘’My Baby ‘’ with confidence and panache .It takes courage to get up and perform in front of such a large audience but we helped each other along the way . The next meeting is on Wednesday May 26th in the Community Centre at 11am . This will be the last meeting before our Annual Holiday in Westport which starts on Sunday may 30th .There is still time to join us , the holiday lasts from Sun to Friday when we return . Cost is 280 Euro and includes B&B for 5 nights and 4 evening meals

Entertainment  each evening and night, full use of the leisure Centre. Single supplement is 60 Euro .Daytime tours are optional and extra .If you would like to join our friendly happy group call Maura at 96 24540 or Colleen at 96 24740 as soon as possible.

Vintage and Family Day .

Drumsna Annual Vintage and Family Day takes place on Sunday June 13th Commencing at 2pm with a packed day full of entertainment . There will be the usual vintage Display which is getting bigger and better each year ,  Madame X will tell you your fortune which is so accurate that it is scary  ( as some of last years recipients can tell you ) Nurse Kitty will test your blood pressure for a mere 5 Euro, There will be Bouncy Castles , Guess the name of the doll , Face painting ,  Children’s Sports ,with races from under 4 up to under 14 , Children’s football under 12, Match Annaduff v Kilmore , Mammy’s and Daddy’s race , Best Dressed lady , Best Dressed Granny , Bonny Baby  under 1yr, 2yrs , 3yrs.Best Dog Show , children’s Treasure Hunt, the Café in the Community Centre will be open if you feel peckish after all the excitement .

There will be a meeting in the Community centre Drumsna on Tuesday week may 25th at 8pm . If you can help out in any way at the Field day or you have a good suggestion please attend this meeting all help will be received gratefully.

Bingo.

Bingo continues in The Community centre Drumsna each Thursday night at 9pm. The winners last week were Mary Reynolds ; Mona Foley , the winners of the raffle Ellen Gibbons ; Jimmy Bohan ; Myra Bohan ,Free Books Delia Mann ; Chris Murray . Wedding bells .

Congratulations are extended to Caitriona Mc Weeney Drumliffen and Ricky Cosgrove, Limerick on the occasion of their marriage in St. Patrick’s Church Gowel recently .Father Frank Garvey P.P. Kiltoghert celebrated the Marriage together with Father Sean Burke a friend and neighbour of the bride .The bridesmaids were Edel Mc Weeney and Aine Reidy, the best man Joachim Quinn and Groomsman Cathal Griffin the ushers David McWeeney ; Pauric Mc Weeney ; Glen Cosgrove ; Derek Cosgrove;Flower Girl Rachel Tracey ; Page Boys Stephen Goldrick ; Brian Goldrick. A reception for Family and friends was held in The Landmark hotel Carrick-on-Shannon .The happy couple  are honeymooning in South Africa and we wish them good luck in their future lives together .Rosary Rally.

The All Ireland Rosary Rally will be held at Knock Shrine on Saturday June 5th 2010.

Commencing  at 1.45 until 2.45 with Family Rosary and songs of Praise. At 3pm. Celebration of The Eucharist takes place with Most Rev., John Fleming DD Killala Diocese.

HISTORY LAUNCH

The official launch of Des Guckian’s history of the Parish of Annaduff/Drumsna, entitled “Annals of Annaduff” will take place in Flynn’s Shannon Key West Hotel, Rooskey, on next Friday night 21 May, at 8.30 pm. The launch will be performed by Cordelia Mayfield, London, grand-daughter of the last Lord Harlech to own Derrycarne.  Cordelia has always shown a great interest in this area.  The launch will be during a concert of traditional music, song and dance.  The book costs 12 euro.  Admission is optional.  All are welcome to attend. G.A.A./ Parish Lotto

There was one winner of the G.A.A./Parish lotto held in Taylor’s bar Drumsna on Sunday night last. Heartiest Congratulations to Mickey Quinn Cloone who won the jackpot. Thanks is extended to all our loyal supporters. The draw commences next week with a new jackpot of 1,000 Euro .

Sympathy is extended to Mary and Leo Kavanagh and family,  Corlara on the death of Mary’s brother Marty Cummins which took place in Dublin during the week also to his wife Marie sons and  extended relations family and friends .
