There will be Mass in Drumsna on Friday evening May14th at 7pm. Followed by Exposition of The Blessed sacrament Holy Hour Duty Mary Khaleel ; Maureen Quigley .

Sean Nos Dancing .

The Sean Nos Dancing Classes continue with Edwina on Friday nights in the Community Centre Drumsna at 8pm until 9pm. All are welcome .

Social Dancing .

Learn how to do the waltz , quick step , jive etc at Drumsna /community each Wednesday night at 8pm .

Parish /G.A.A. Lotto.

There was no winner of the G.A.A. / Parish Lotto which took place in Cox’s steak house Dromod on Sunday night last . The numbers drawn were 2 ; 5 ; 12 ; 14 . The winner of the fifty Euro prize was Francis Cox . the winners of the twenty five Euro prizes are as follows ;Angela O’ Mahoney , Furnace ; Tim Hagan Killarney ; Maria O’ Sullivan Dromod ; Brian Mc Loughlin, Furnace .The next draw is in Taylor’s Bar Drumsna with a jackpot of 5,900 Euro .

Sympathy.

Sympathy is extended to Lily Creegan and family on the death of her husband Eugene Creegan who’s funeral Mass in mohill took place last week.

Sympathy is also extended to Eileen Guckian and family Correish and the Farrell family Belmount,  on the death of Eileen’s sister Fionnuala Lee which took place at the weekend

May their souls rest in peace .

Bingo.

Bingo continues in the Community Centre Drumsna each Thursday night with first call at 9pm. sharp. The winners  last week were Jack Mc Keon Bornacoola ; Eoghan Reynolds,Drumsna, the winners of the raffle Margaret Mc Guire,Drumsna ; Ann Beirne Gortinty ; Tess Gannon Drumsna, free books Daire Guckian Foxborough; Aoife O Brien Finisklin.

Mohill Play.

Mohill local drama group are presenting a three act play entitled ‘’The Corner Shop ‘’ in the Canon Donohue Memorial Hall starting on Thursday May 13th until Sunday May 16th inclusive commencing at 9pm each evening . For Booking please phone at 0866035977 . Tickets also available at the door .

First Communion.

Congratulations to all of the children who received their first Holy Communion in St. Mary’s Church Annaduff on Saturday last from father John Wall P. P. A beautiful day was had by all as the sun shone brightly. Each Communicant was presented with an especially Blessed Rosary Beads from Fr . John . Their teacher and mentor Elisabeth Woods was presented with a much deserved bouquet. The ladies from the I.C.A. together with the Parents Association put on a great spread afterwards .Well done to all concerned for making a memorable First Communion day for the children and families.

 

 

 

Key West Launch.

Annaduff people everywhere  will be looking forward with interest to the launch of Des Guckian’s history of the Parish , called “Annals of Annaduff” , in Flynn’s Shannon Key West Hotel, on Friday 21 May .This launch is part of The Brian Boru Millennium celebrations in Annaduff.

Trollope Summer School.

The plans for the First International Anthony Trollope Summer School are going full steam ahead with many people from  Ireland, England and the U.S. already having booked their places. The weekend commences in The community Centre, Drumsna on Friday evening ,August 27th with registration and welcoming reception , on Saturday Aug 28th there are talks and lectures until lunch time , after lunch we have workshop/ discussions until 4pm when we then join Gerry Gilroy and the Leitrim Sub Aqua club at the quayside as they arrive on their snorkel from Jamestown. There is a Trollope banquet in the Bush Hotel Carrick-on-Shannon on the Saturday night. Sunday afternoon sees us walking the Trollope Trail to Ballycloran where the naming of the  Trollope Bridge takes place . On Sunday evening the new film of The Macdermots of Ballycloran with all local people acting will be shown in the Mobile cinema at Drumsna Church . Monday Morning sees the unusual sight of ‘’Moonriver’’ at the Quay in Drumsna where we will say farewell to delegates as they sail into Carrick-on-Shannon for a final walk about the County Town.

The Launch of this exciting weekend takes place within the next few weeks .

Also in relation to the film ,we will be shooting scenes around and about for the next few months . We hope to use the actors that played in the last film and there will be a few group/ crowd scenes like the one at the races in the previous film and anyone who wishes to take part is welcome to do so .The scene will be set in the 1840s. and appropriate clothing of the time must be worn.
