There will be mass in Drumsna on Friday evening at 7pm. Followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Holy hour duty  Chris Murray ; Seamus Murray. Mass on Sunday at 9.30am Reader / Minister Patricia Farrell.

Bingo.

Bingo continues in The Community Centre Drumsna on Thursday Nights at 9pm. Last weeks winners of the big money were Mrs Guckian Mohill ; Adam O Hagan Drumsna . Winners of the raffle Patricia O Reilly Glebe ; Ann Doherty  Drumsna ; Tom Prior  Annaduff; Free books  Carmel Guckian , Foxborough ; Gerry O Reilly Glebe .

Golden Age News.

The Golden Age May Social( Bealtaine ) takes place in The Bush hotel Carrick-on-Shannon on Tuesday May 4th commencing at 8pm. There will be Dancing to Mark Finn, Refreshments ,and an interval of approximately 30 minutes for our bit of drama and song Everyone is welcome. The annual holiday has been transferred from Donegal back to the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport for our third trip there . That takes place from Sunday May 30th until Friday June 4th and anyone is welcome to join us .

Garda visit.

Garda Helen Colleran will be  in The Community Centre,Drumsna to-day Wednesday from 2pm until 4pm.Garda Colleran is the Community Alert Officer for the Drumsna /Jamestown Area and will be available to answer questions on Safety in the home etc ,or if you have any problems you wish to discuss with her you may do so in total confidence Garda Colleran is anxious to get to know the community especially people who live alone.

Floral Pride Etc

Our entry for the Floral Pride competition has been posted and it is now up to us all to do our best with our floral displays tidiness etc . This will also be  preparation for the Tidy Towns entry which goes in next Month  ( May )  we upped our marks by an amazing amount of 17 last year and if our minds are put to it I’m sure we can bring them up again this year . It’s a community effort spearheaded by the local Development Association and any help with weeding, tidying, watering plants, hanging baskets etc would be appreciated .We want to have the village looking good for all the exciting events that are taking place here over the next few months .ie on Sunday June  13th the family and Vintage day takes place in Mc Loughlin’s Paddock, on Wednesday June 23rd the annual bonfire at the Quay-side , on Monday June 28th the Connaught Fleadh commences with a monster Seisun of traditional song music and dance in Mc Loughlin’s Drumsna, on Tuesday June 29th Local Musician and song writer Fionnuala Maxwell launches her CD of Leitrim Ballads in the Community Centre Drumsna ,on Wednesday June 30th a traditional youth session takes place also  in the community Centre Drumsna .The Fleadh then transfers to Mohill for the rest of the week . On August 27th the First Annual International Anthony Trollope Summer School commences and runs until Monday August 30th , also taking  place on Saturday August 28th is the Leitrim sub Aqua Club Annual Snorkal between Jamestown and Drumsna commencing at 2.30 pm. If there is any other event taking place in our area we will be happy to include it in these notes .
