Liam was buried in Jamestown after his funeral Mass in Drumsna on Monday .
The late Liam Costello was a post man for all of his working life starting at a young age driving a pony and cart from Drumsna P.O. to Hillstreet P.O. He cycled the roads around this vicinity for many years through hail ,rain and snow . He told me he knew every dog from here to hell and had the teeth marks to prove it .All through his life he was cheerful and helpful bringing messages as well as the post to people along his route .He was good for a chat and enjoyed a cup of tea along the way .He could talk on any topic and was a mine of information on the G.A.A., world affairs and particularly Politics . He was a devout Catholic and a good neighbor and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. God rest his soul .Amen

Westmeath was fulsome in the media during the week as she took the brave decision of writing to the parents of children in the college after the collapse of three of them on the school premises after taking ‘’Bonzai ‘’ which is on sale in head shops everywhere. The children who were on school video footage collapsed and were taken to Mullingar General Hospital .After the recovery of the pupils and in consultation with them and their parents Mrs Mc Auliffe took steps to show the rest of the pupils the footage . The Principal praised the students for their co-operation in allowing the video to be shown so their classmates could see first hand just how dangerous the drugs are .Well done to Drumsna Native Maura McAuliffe,on her stance on this ever growing dangerous issue .
